After going 8-8 last season, an extra receiver could push the Ravens into playoff position. Mike Wallace was the main man for Joe Flacco last season, a year after the legendary Steve Smith Sr. called it quits. Running back remains a question for the birds, but there aren’t any names to grab at the moment. Kenneth Dixon, Lorenzo Taliaferro, Danny Woodhead and Terrance West will have to do.

Jeremy Maclin would be a welcome addition to a team without much depth at receiver. Mike Wallace crossed 1,000 yards last year, but he isn’t much more than a deep threat. It works with Flacco’s cannon arm firing the pigskin, but there needs to be a secondary option to turn to over the middle of the field.

Breshad Perriman was supposed to be a dynamic playmaker, but he hasn’t been able to stay healthy. There is still hope for him as he has shown flashes, but he is unreliable. Dennis Pitta was released after suffering yet another hip injury recently. Benjamin Watson could be a viable option if he stays healthy, as could fellow tight ends, Crockett Gillmore and Maxx Williams.

However, Maclin would be a serious upgrade over everything the Ravens have. Whether or not he would usurp Wallace for the lead role would be determined down the line, but it is certainly possible. He already had a visit with the Ravens but left town without a deal. It’s another good fit but doesn’t appear to be the most likely landing spot for the former Chief.
