Christian McCaffrey, RB/WR

The Carolina Panthers spent the eighth overall pick on Stanford’s do it all star running back, Christian McCaffrey. The Panthers’ running back situation became clearer after the select of McCaffrey, Jonathan Stewart’s time as the featured back may be over, especially since he is on the wrong side of 30.

That prospect should excite fantasy owners everywhere. McCaffrey’s a versatile weapon who week in and week out racked up 100s of yards through the air, on the ground, and in the return game, and most importantly found the end zone 33 times in two seasons.

McCaffrey will fit right in with the Panthers’ offense and be a do it all back who can tote the rock on the ground, catch passes out of the backfield (great for PPR league teams to take early for an RB2) and finds the end zone. With high upside in every aspect of his game, he figures to see a lot of touches out of the gate, which will make him especially useful in PPR leagues.
