Deshaun Watson, QB

This one may not be an instant hit thanks to Tom Savage still being in the picture, unless of course Watson edges him in camp. The Texans traded up for Deshaun Watson so there’s obviously an intent to use him as a rookie, and why not if he’s the best option they have, especially with all the weapons he has.

The Texans had one of the best defenses in the NFL last season, and one of the worst offenses thanks to inefficient quarterback play, which killed the fantasy value of 2016 breakout star DeAndre Hopkins. With a competent quarterback like Watson who throws a nice deep ball, they could put up some serious points, but it doesn’t end there.

Watson adds value as a mobile quarterback who can gain yards on the ground and find the endzone (1,934 yards and 26 touchdowns) which gives him an edge over the other rookie QBs. With all of his weapons, his ability to run, and Bill O’Brien’s coaching he could develop into a fantasy stud, it just might take some time.
