Fantasy Football: 10 rookies to draft this season
Leonard Fournette, RB
Like Davis, Leonard Fournette was a top five pick with lofty expectations. His selection was telling of what the Jaguars want to do moving forward and finally adds a viable fantasy back to the Jags’ roster. Anyone who watched college football knows what Fournette can do, and what value he could potentially add to your fantasy team.
Fournette averaged 6.2 yards per carry against SEC competition in college football and scored 40 touchdowns (1.25 per game) in his career in 32 games. Fournette doesn’t have the o-line that he had at LSU, but still was able to create for himself while he was there when they failed to block.
Fournette doesn’t add the value like Mixon as a PPR back with only 41 receptions in three years, but has a lot of upside. He showed he could break off big runs for touchdowns, and vulture touchdowns at the goal line. It also helps his case that he went for over 100 yards in a game 16 times, and over 200 yards four times. Expect him to carry RB1 to RB2 value this year depending on league depth.
