Miami Dolphins: Will WR Devante Parker take that next step?

Entering year three as a pro, the former 14th overall pick in the 2015 draft is facing a critical stage in his development. It has been noted in the past that receivers usually take a considerable step from year two to year three. This past season, Parker hauled in 56 catches for 744 yards and four touchdowns. A significant shift from a 26-catch, three touchdown rookie season in 2015.

The Dolphins offense were 17th in scoring last season at 22.7 points per game and 24th in overall offense averaging 332.8 yards per game. An offense that was not greatly spectacular but still good enough to win a few games and make the playoffs.

So seeing Parker progress alongside the combination of WRs Jarvis Landry and Kenny Stills (136 catches, 13 TDs combined) can give the Dolphins a young and lethal trio that has the potential to be mentioned among the league’s best.

Parker has battled foot and hamstring injuries since entering the league, but the potential is there and was quite vivid this past season. While at the time, Landry is seen as the best on the roster, the Dolphins offense can substantially look different with the elite talent that Parker can be as a #1 receiver.
