Washington Redskins – 2008

Perhaps the most maddening thing about Washington Redskins owner Daniel Snyder is he can never stick to something when it’s going well. Every time it looks like his team has some momentum going, he decides to change something. Needless to say that sort of micromanaging has led to the persistent stop-start success and failure of the organization. The 2008 draft may have become the poster child for that sort of inconsistency problem.

Despite boasting three 2nd round picks in this draft and 10 overall, the Redskins found a way to muck it up. Devin Thomas, Fred Davis and Malcolm Kelly were the top three choices. None of them made any sort of significant impact despite playing a fair number of games. It just felt like a draft that was more about flash than substance. The best example was 6th round pick Colt Brennan, a kid who set stat records at Hawaii but was clearly not built for the NFL.
