New England Patriots – 2014

Even the almighty Bill Belichick is capable of making mistakes, hard as that is to believe. Now in fairness the 2014 draft class can still be salvaged thanks in large part to the presence of Jimmy Garoppolo. The 2nd round pick from that group looks like he could be the heir apparent to Tom Brady, whenever that passing of the torch ends up coming. However, he may be the only hope because the rest of the class hasn’t held up their end of the bargain. Or “done their job.”

Dominique Easley, their 1st rounder was let go after just a couple seasons. This due to injury and schematic issues.  Running back James White had a great performance in the Super Bowl but that doesn’t make up for his relative invisibility during most of his career. Bryan Stork started at center for their 2014 championship team but was cut the following year and hasn’t played since. In essence it feels like this class was mostly just along for the ride.
