Miami Dolphins – 2013

One of the more recent entrants on the list. Much of what made the 2013 Dolphins class so bad begins and ends with their first pick. Not only did they give up a 2nd rounder to trade up defensive end Dion Jordan, they also took him knowing full well he’d had limited success as a pass rusher at Oregon. They were banking on his freakish athletic prowess being molded by proper coaching into a beast. They were wrong. Jordan was a bust. He had just two sacks as a rookie, got suspended twice his second year and again in 2015 for the entire season.

The rest of the class failed to make up for that giant botch. Jamar Taylor, Dallas Thomas and Dion Sims all became decent role players and backups but nothing close to what the Dolphins needed to take on the mighty Patriots in the AFC East. It’s another perfect example of how inconsistent the organization has been for years. After all this clunker was sandwiched between two pretty solid drafts at the time.
