Los Angeles Rams – 2006

Believe it or not, once upon a time the Los Angeles Rams were a perennial playoff contender. It’s true. Throughout the early to mid-2000s they were always in the postseason picture. Expectations were for that to continue despite a tough 6-10 season in 2005. All they needed was another influx of young talent to keep things going. It was set up so well too. They had five picks in the first three rounds including the 15th overall. One or two hits and they were back in play.

Safe to say it didn’t go well. At all. None of the 10 picks they made lasted longer than three seasons with the team. Their first pick, cornerback Tye Hill actually started off great. He played all 16 games and had three interceptions as a rookie. Then the injuries struck and kept striking. He managed just 12 games over the next two years and was out of football not long after being cut by the team. From there the Rams sank into obscurity they still haven’t come out of.
