The Worst NFL Drafts From All 32 Teams Since the Year 2000

Jacksonville Jaguars – 2008
For the briefest of times, it looked like the Jacksonville Jaguars were becoming serious contenders in 2007. They’d rolled into the playoffs that year, beat the Steelers in Pittsburgh and gave the undefeated New England Patriots a fairly competitive game. How much better could they get if they had one more good draft? They never got a chance to find out. The 2008 class was not only small but also riddled with mediocrity. A poorly timed misstep that killed their momentum.
Most of the mid and late round picks weren’t even a factor upon arrival in the league. The real pain came from their 1st and 2nd rounders, Derrick Harvey and Quentin Groves. They played a combined five seasons for the team. In that span they managed all of 10.5 sacks. Is it any coincidence the defense went from 10th to 21st in points allowed that season? No doubt it played a significant role. Another reminder of how one bad draft can change everything.
