Drew Brees is already a made man in the NFL. His Hall of Fame date is set five years after he retires, whenever that ends up being.
He holds all sorts of records including the only quarterback to ever throw for more than one 5,000-yard season in a career. In this case an unprecedented five times. A big reason for that success? The man’s near-legendary accuracy. One does not throw for that many yards in a career without being able to put the ball on the money almost every time. He’s completed over 70% of his passes in three of his seasons and is averaging over 66% for his entire career.
Those are mental numbers. Even so it’s difficult to illustrated just how pinpoint the man can be to fans. Well worry no longer. Thanks to a popular YouTube channel called Dude Perfect, renowned for their trick shot-based antics, they teamed with Brees for a friendly accuracy competition. Needless to say it didn’t go well for the hosts.
Don’t mess with Drew Brees
Not only did he knock several skeet shoot discs out of the air, he also showcased his incredible timing by throwing balls through pendulum swinging rings. If that weren’t enough he went to the top bleachers of the Superdome and drained a throw through a basketball hoop. The guy was a literal machine who often toyed with the Dude Perfect guys, admittedly a group who aren’t slouches at this sort of stuff.
Then just to rub it in, Brees actually knocked a pylon off one of their heads with a drop kick. The one area he couldn’t master? Music trivia knowledge. That crown was reserved for head coach Sean Payton who joined in on the fun. If fans don’t want to pour over hours of game footage to see why Brees is one of the best ever. Just sit down to view this 7-minute clip.
It pretty much tells the story.
