#4:  Chicago Bears:  Mike Glennon vs. Mitch Trubisky

Ryan Pace reiterated multiple times that the plan for 2017 is straightforward. Veteran free agent Mike Glennon is the Chicago Bears starter. The idea is to give him his opportunity this year while the team looks to groom Mitch Trubisky for the future if it doesn’t end up going well. In essence they doubled down at quarterback to see if they found an answer. Glennon confirmed that same thought process when asked about it during the first OTA practices.

At the same time, everybody knows how the NFL works these days. Teams may say the plan is to sit a young quarterback, but one luxury always in short supply is time. Trubisky is a #2 overall pick. One the Bears are very high on. Don’t think for a second they won’t give him every opportunity to seize the job if he shows significant progress over the next three months. Glennon has the edge for sure but the last thing he can afford is to feel comfortable.
