#4:  Peyton Hillis

Remember him? Well if not that’s too. At one point in time Peyton Hillis looked like the next big thing. A powerful running back who bulldozed his way to over 1,100 yards and 11 touchdowns as a rookie. His 184-yard, two TD performance against New England was one of the highlights of the years. People were sure that the Cleveland Browns had hit it out of the park by signing him. The Madden people did too, slapping him on the cover for the 2011 season.

Seems everybody jumped the gun. Hillis was never the same after that season. Injuries robbed him of six games that year and his production was cut by more than half. A year later he was cut and he spent four forgettable seasons in Kansas City and New York. Each time his production getting worse. He was out of the league by age 29, leaving many to lament whether it was a wise decision on his part to accept being on the cover at all.
