45. . Quarterback. Ole Miss. Chad Kelly. 7. player

The Denver Broncos make their second appearance on this list after the selection of Chad Kelly with the final pick in the entire drat. I don’t know that there was a bigger steal in this entire draft, potentially, if Kelly keeps his act together.

More from NFL Mocks

Going into this past season, I would have probably ranked Kelly as a top five prospect at the position easily. He was coming off of a phenomenal junior season in which he dominated the rest of the SEC and was named MVP of the Sugar Bowl.

After losing Laremy Tunsil and Laquan Treadwell to the NFL, Kelly’s play understandably dropped off a little bit this past year. He also tore his ACL in the 9th game of the season, and didn’t get to participate in any offseason workouts or activities as a result.

He was making significant progress toward a pro day in April, and then hurt his wrist. He was unable to show teams any progress he’d made from his injuries, and as a result of injuries, off-field issues, and inconsistency from 2015 to 2016, he dropped in the draft.

The Broncos cashed in, and now have someone who can compete for their third quarterback job right away and perhaps, when healthy, a starting job.
