2017 NFL Draft: The biggest steal in each round
The Minnesota Vikings moved up in the second round ahead of the Saints and Eagles to get their new running back. Florida State star Dalvin Cook was one of the most prolific playmakers in this draft class, and leading up to the draft, rumors of off-field issues dropped him out of the first round entirely.
Those concerns are not to be dismissed, but Cook going to Minneapolis is perhaps the best situation. He will go from the state of Florida to the icy tundra of Minnesota where the only thing for him to really do will be focus on football.
Of course, this is the offseason the Vikings are trying to replace Adrian Peterson. They found out the last two seasons that you can’t really ‘replace’ Peterson, a once-in-a-generation talent, but perhaps the additions of Latavius Murray and Dalvin Cook can help fans forget him for awhile.
Cook is a big play waiting to happen. He has elite playmaking skills both as a runner and receiver and reminded many of Jamaal Charles coming out of college.
