Day 2

2nd Round:  Cam Robinson (OT, Alabama)

Luke Joeckel was a major failure at left tackle for Jacksonville. That is a position they have to get right if this offensive makeover is to work. If running the football is their new course of direction, then they couldn’t find a better man for that position. Robinson is a functional athlete with some off-the-field concerns. However, he’s a big human being with power and length for days. Plowing open rushing lanes is what he did best at Alabama.

Grade:  A

3rd Round:  Dawuane Smoot (DE, Illinois)

Everybody kept saying that the athleticism and size were hard to ignore with Smoot. This is true. He’s a big guy with surprising quickness and power. The problem is he has all these tools but his sack production still underachieved throughout his time at Illinois. Sure there’s a possibility the light may go on, but at present he looks like a rotational pass rusher who might be good for 6-8 sacks at most a year. Is that worth a 3rd round pick? Hard to say.

Grade:  C
