NFL Draft: Los Angeles Chargers Grade
Jenkins is one piece of the puzzle for Los Angeles’ defense, which has missed Eric Weddle since he left for Baltimore. He’s a big hitter coming out of Miami who may need to refine his tackling technique and route to the runner, but he’s an option for now. Expect him to be a special teams guy to start.
King is another piece of the puzzle after winning the Jim Thorpe award two years ago for Iowa. Staying with the Hawks for his final season may not have been the greatest decision, and cost King first round money in the long run. For now he’s going to figure out with Gus Bradley whether he’s a safety or cornerback.
Another offensive lineman for Los Angeles, but this time it appears to be a tackle rather than a guard. Russell Okung is the stopgap at left tackle for the Chargers, while Tevi could force his way into the first team reps with a positive showing in training camp this summer.
Joey Bosa was a star for the Chargers as a rookie and now the franchise is adding another defensive lineman who can penetrate the backfield and disrupt ball carriers. While not a sack machine line Bosa Rochell can be a rotation lineman on rushing downs.
