Day 2

2nd Round:  Chidobe Awuzie (CB, Colorado)

The mass exodus of starting corners made this move inevitable for the Cowboys. Awuzie was a tough, solid player for Colorado. He could play consistent coverage but was at his best as a blitzer. His timing and explosion downhill allowed him to hit the quarterback a lot. That versatility is something Dallas should be able to take advantage of. Best of all he’s experienced. This means he should be able to start right away if required.

Grade:  A-

3rd Round:  Jourdan Lewis (CB, Michigan)

Per usual the Cowboys have no fear taking a gamble on character question marks. Jourdan Lewis has a big one involving domestic violence involving an ex-girlfriend. Though he believes the charges will be dropped, it doesn’t change the stigma already hang over his head. On the field he’s a tremendous talent with athleticism and toughness who does really well in coverage. He is 5’10” and lanky even for that size. So injury risks will be prominent too.

Grade:  B-
