2018 NFL Draft: Josh Allen already touted as top prospect
2018 NFL Draft: Wyoming Cowboys quarterback Josh Allen is already being touted as the top prospect a year in advance of the 2018 NFL Draft…
Just as there is no ‘offseason’ in the NFL, there is also no time to waste preparing for the 2018 NFL Draft. Okay, maybe we have a bit of time yet, but that hasn’t stopped the rumor mill from churning, and from Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen already being crowned next year’s top pick…
Put that in the books, folks.
When the Wyoming Cowboys kick off their 2017 season at Kinnick Stadium against the Iowa Hawkeyes, it will be the most watched Wyoming vs. Iowa game ever. All joking aside, the hype surrounding Allen is already as intense as it can get, and every game he plays next season will be over-analyzed, scrutinized, and generally fascinating to watch.
Not since Andrew Luck has a player been crowned a draft’s top pick before he even enters his name into it, but Allen apparently has that kind of ability, even in a deep class of quarterbacks.
Allen is entering his redshirt junior year and coming off of a season where he threw 3,203 yards, completing 56 percent of his passes with 28 touchdowns compared to 15 interceptions.
Those numbers will need to improve drastically this year as NFL scouts pick apart this guy’s game and try to figure out whether or not he can be the face of an NFL franchise, but there will certainly be no shortage of hype as long as Allen keeps displaying the top flight traits he possesses.
A dual-threat quarterback, Allen has the size, speed, arm strength, and touch NFL teams covet, but he’s still got some seasoning. Still, some believe if he had entered his name into the 2017 NFL Draft, he would have been the top pick overall…
With some bold predictions already being made in regards to Allen and his abilities, I suppose it’s appropriate to put the Iowa Hawkeyes on upset alert for week one.
