Stanford. Christian McCaffrey. 8. player. 87. Certainly, it sounds as if the Panthers are eyeing in on Leonard Fournette and Christian McCaffrey. I wouldn’t be surprised if either running back was gone by the time they were on the clock but if one of them are there, it should be there pick.
Fluidity, agility and overall smooth running style stood out the Combine. McCaffrey has been turning heads since becoming a Cardinal and he’s continued to do so during the draft process. Here’s what he did at the Combine:

Height: 5’11
Weight: 202 lbs.
40-yard dash: 4.48 seconds
Bench press: 10 reps
Vertical jump: 37.5 inches
Broad jump: 121 inches
3-cone drill: 6.57 seconds
20-yard shuttle: 4.22 seconds
60-yard shuttle: 11.03 seconds

Nobody has better footwork than Christian McCaffrey. They never stop moving and he’s so talented coming out of the backfield. Whether you haven him at receiver or a running back, there’s no question he can make a play, instantly. While the Panthers have Jonathan Stewart, he’s struggled to stay healthy and the depth behind him isn’t exactly ideal.

Power running is what the Panthers do best and Christian McCaffrey isn’t exactly ideal for that. However, he should have defined role within this offense. That role during his rookie season should consist of around 100 carries or so with over 60 receptions. Changing the offense some to utilize McCaffrey is what’s best for this team and is what’s best for Cam Newton.
. Running Back
