Gareon Conley. 10. player. 16. **Conley was slotted in this spot prior to being accused of rape, which could greatly affect his status**
Draft evaluators are starting to put Gareon Conley as their top cornerback in the draft. It won’t be something I do and I can’t figure out why. Maybe that’s just me being 100% invested into Marshon Lattimore or just not giving Conley enough credit. Honestly, though i’m still a fan of Conley and it’s clear that Ohio State is DBU (defensive back university). Some say that Haason Reddick has helped his draft stock more than anybody but what about Conley? He was sitting behind guys like Quincy Wilson, Jalen Tabor and Sidney Jones for months. Now he’s considered by some as the top guy at the position.
Most of the feeling with Conley has changed because of poor draft seasons by other cornerbacks but for what he did at the Combine as well:

Height: 6’0
Weight: 195 lbs.
40-yard dash: 4.44 seconds
Bench press: 11 reps
Vertical jump: 37 inches
Broad jump: 129 inches
3-cone drill: 6.68 seconds
20-yard shuttle: 4.18 seconds

From my film evaluations, Conley is more of a press corner than a zone coverage corner. He’s more hesitant in zone coverage but closes well for a tackle or pass breakup. He reminds me a lot like Eli Apple last year and a lot of that is because he filled into Apple’s role this past year at Ohio State. There shouldn’t be much hesitation for the Bills with Conley on the board. With Stephon Gilmore fleeing to New England, the biggest need on the Bills draft board has to be cornerback and this is a solid pick.
. Cornerback. Ohio State
