Marshon Lattimore. 6. player. 30. Make no mistake about it, the Jets need to bolster their defensive secondary right off the bat in the 2017 NFL Draft. Last season, they were an abysmal unit that allowed most quarterbacks they faced an opportunity to air it out with much success. Even mediocre quarterbacks looked great because this unit was so bad, they had no aggression, execution, and lacked pride.
That’s why with the No. 6 overall pick, the Jets will select cornerback Marshon Lattimore out of Ohio State. At 6’0″ and 193lbs., Lattimore is the premier cornerback the Jets need to add that is an instant starter that will produce immediate results.

Lattimore has the speed and aggression to be a true shut-down cornerback. Despite many believing that being injury-prone due to nagging hamstring issues might have his draft stock fall, he did well last year with the Buckeyes.

When healthy, Lattimore is everything the Jets need and then some at cornerback. There is some major risk here since his overall health is concerning and he’s only played in one full year of college but the Jets need playmakers on defense. That’s why it’s worth taking a shot on Lattimore and putting him in a situation to thrive on a secondary in dire need of talent and someone with the attributes of being a future leader on defense
. CB. Ohio State
