Alabama. Jonathan Allen. 3. player. 57. There are some concerns about the health of Allen’s shoulders due to a couple of surgeries in college and his mediocre testing numbers at the combine, but his elite production can’t be discounted. Allen has been one of the most disruptive defensive linemen in college football for two years in a row with 22.5 sacks and 30 tackles for loss.
The Bears have plenty of needs on both side of the ball, including at quarterback which they could address with the third pick or safety where both Malik Hooker and Jamal Adams would be significant upgrades, but the Bears likely will play it safe with Allen and fill another need on the defensive line.

The addition of Allen to the Bears defensive line would give them a potential starting unit of Eddie Goldman, Akiem Hicks, and Allen, which could be one of the best defensive lines in the league if they can stay healthy and keep improving.
.
