UCLA. Takk McKinley. 27. player. 124. Chiefs Kingdom will call for my head after leaving Texas Tech quarterback Patrick Mahomes on the board, but for some reason, no one is talking about how the front seven of the Chiefs defense is a total mess. Dee Ford is inconsistent and didn’t produce a single sack after Week 9. Justin Houston cannot stay healthy despite being the highest paid player on the team. Tamba Hali will be 34-years-old next season. Even with those three in place, the Chiefs were No. 28 in the NFL in total sacks.

This team needs another pass rusher in the worst possible way, which means UCLA’s Takkarist McKinley is the right call here. With a relentless motor, a strong work ethic, great length and a nice closing burst, McKinley will remind the Chiefs of Tamba himself. The good news is that McKinley’s got the all-around skills to play in coverage as well. For a team with Super Bowl ambitions, the pass rush simply has to get better ASAP. McKinley is the ideal insurance policy for production for 2017 while giving them a pillar for the pass rush for the next half-decade.
. DL/LB
