player. 54. General consensus indicates the Eagles will look to select a cornerback in the first round. But considering the wealth of cornerback talent in this year’s draft class, the Eagles won’t have to pressure themselves into taking a corner in the first round.

After signing Alshon Jeffery and Torrey Smith in free agency, it may seem silly to draft a wide receiver in the first round. However, neither Jeffery or Smith are guaranteed to return to the Eagles beyond the 2017 season. Jeffery is signed to a one-year deal and Smith is signed to a string of one-year deals through 2019. Ross’ speed would take the top off of opposing defenses and allow Jeffery, Smith and Jordan Matthews to work their magic on intermediate parts of the field.

Scouts have compared Ross to former Eagle DeSean Jackson. As it turns out, Ross was an Eagles fan because of Jackson. Ross has already visited with the Eagles for a pre-draft visit, so the intrigue seems to be present on both sides.
. WR. Washington. John Ross. 14
