player. 32. When the offseason began, one of the first items of business the Cardinals announced was they would be looking for their quarterback of the future. Kizer fits that role perfectly for the Cardinals. He has good size at 6’4, 230 and has a strong arm. Perfect for what Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians is looking for.
Kizer threw for 26 touchdowns and nine interceptions in 2016 to go along with his 2,925 yards. The biggest issue he faces is his inconsistency. He looked great at times, poor at others. However his numbers in 2016 were better than his 2015 numbers, which many felt like was his better season.

Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly said last week he thought that Kizer should have stayed in school another year but supports his decision to move to the NFL. That’s another reason why he fits the Cardinals. He doesn’t need to play now. He can sit for a year or two behind Cardinals starting quarterback Carson Palmer and learn from him. He can mature while standing on the sidelines seeing the game and how fast it moves without having the pressure of playing immediately.
. QB. Notre Dame. DeShone Kizer. 13
