Washington Redskins 2017 Mock Draft: Class Highlighted by Defense

Questions surround the Washington Redskins, including firing their GM and uncertainty on Kirk Cousins’ future. Having a successful draft will help instill confidence in a shaken franchise.
The Washington Redskins are shrouded in uncertainty. Former GM Scot McCloughan was loved by players and coaches, but relapse into alcohol led to his release. Questions arose whether the organization offered it’s support and brought the state of the franchise into question. Add in the fact that nobody has an idea if Kirk Cousins will be the Redskins starting quarterback in 2017 or beyond. These issues highlight an organization that is desperate to bring hope to it’s fans.
McCloughan, praised for his ability to recognize talent, won’t be in the war room next week when the draft starts. Instead, team ownership will take over until a suitable replacement is found. This creates even more urgency for the Redskins to hit on players. They have to continue building their defense, adding weapons on offense, and may need to find insurance in case Cousins opts for the Bay area after next season.
