Illinois. Dawuane Smoot . 147. player. 57. The edge rusher situation is surprisingly fluid for the Bears. It has a chance to be really good or pretty bad depending on health and age. Willie Young is 32. Lamarr Houston is coming off a torn ACL. Leonard Floyd and Pernell McPhee struggled to stay healthy as well. It’s a situation that demands more depth. Dawuane Smoot is a local product out of Illinois with impressive physical traits including athleticism and power. He just hasn’t learn how to utilize properly. That will require good coaching.. DE

7th Round

player. 57. The 7th round is about finding those players with nice upside who might not be complete but could fit a specific system. Brad Seaton is a bigger offensive tackle with solid movement skills. He’s not overly powerful but he could make for a solid fit in a zone blocking scheme that demands more agility and quickness than pure brute strength. He’ll need to clean up his technique and try to add some muscle, but he’ll definitely make for quality depth at least.. OT. Villanova. Brad Seaton . 221
