. . New York Jets. 6. player. 30.

Deshaun Watson, QB from Clemson:

For the most intriguing team in this entire draft, Deshaun Watson makes a lot of sense. The Jets have a plethora of needs and seem like lightyears away from being a legit franchise again. I wouldn’t be surprised if they went in a different direction but they don’t have a starting quarterback on their roster.

Josh McCown is what I call a “bridge quarterback” as you await for your future signal caller. They don’t seem invested in Christian Hackenberg and with that, I think Deshaun Watson is the answer now. He’s the most pro-ready quarterback, is poised in the pocket and with time could have a little of success in the Big Apple.

Malik Hooker, S from Ohio State:

Best player on the board? Personally, yes. I’ve got Malik Hooker ranked as my third best player in this draft but I do understand the concerns with him. Maybe I’m making those concerns up in my head or maybe it’s just rare to see multiple safeties go within the top-10 of the draft. The range that Hooker displays seems to be at an All-Pro level, his ball skills are the best of anyone in this class and he’s only going to get better.

Medical checks are crucial for him and consistency is another area he’ll have to improve. I say that because he comes into the draft with only one-year of production out of Ohio State. If the Jets were to make this pick, they get a really good safety to improve their porous secondary.
