Pittsburgh Steelers 2017 Seven round mock draft
The Steelers depth at inside linebacker is thin. Especially after Lawrence Timmons bolted for the bright Miami sun. An addition for at least the purpose of depth seems obvious but the Steelers can opt to swing for the fences on a player that could develop into a star
Bowser will help on the edge but the lack of depth on the inside is concerning. Shazier is great… when healthy. And thats a big ‘when’. And Vince Williams just doesn’t seem to be the long term answer for a team focused on becoming more athletic.
Enter Jalen Reeves-Maybin.
The former Tennessee standout had his final season ended suddenly by injury. Up until that point scouts raved about his athleticism and potential as a prospect. Since then he has slid down draft boards due to concerns about his health. The opportunity to pair Shazier with Reeves-Maybin’s tenacious style of play is too much to overlook here.
If Reeves-Maybin can return to form then the Steelers would end up with a huge day three steal.
