5. Cleveland Browns (via TEN)

North Carolina. Mitch Trubisky . 5. player. 53. It sounds like there’s a bit of a tug-of-war going on between the Browns front office and coaching staff. Head coach Hue Jackson wanted Garrett while the executives desired a QB. Both have plenty of good reasons for the way they feel, but there was no way the team could justify passing on Garrett for any of the QBs available. That said, this team has a wealth of extra draft picks at their disposal. So why not just trade back up from #12 to get the one they covet?
They do just that, skirting ahead of the quarterback-needy Jets in a deal with Tennessee for #5. There they get their golden boy Mitch Trubisky. It seems almost fated that he’d play for Cleveland, having been born in Ohio and watched the Browns growing up. Throw in his impressive skill set from the solid footwork to the accuracy, mobility and quick release and this looks like a guy a franchise can build their future around.
. QB
