13. Arizona Cardinals

32. The Arizona Cardinals are acting like a team that knows they can’t dance around the inevitable reality anymore. Carson Palmer doesn’t have much time left in the NFL. In fact 2017 could well be his last season at 37-years old. Bruce Arians doesn’t really have a replacement on the roster ready to assume the mantle once the former Pro Bowler is gone. That’s why a quarterback is very much in play for them at #13.
Patrick Mahomes is exactly the sort of player who fits this offense. Arians has always been a coach who loves to look for the deep strike down the field. To do that he’ll need a quarterback with a powerful arm who can throw deep with accuracy. Patrick Mahomes fits that bill better than anybody in this class. He showed a constant ability to hit receivers in stride 50-60 yards deep. Throw in his mobility and creativity for playmaking and it’s a pick with enormous upside.
. QB. Texas Tech. Patrick Mahomes . 13. player
