This latest 2017 NFL mock draft sees a significant shift in where the big trades happen, going from the top of the first to the bottom.

It’s rather amazing how such a shift can create some intriguing scenarios for the teams involved. The only team who ends up being the big aggressor early is, naturally, the team best equipped to do so. The quarterbacks also dictates some surprising twists in the action as they spread out across the board rather than clustering as usual. Fitting given how weird and unpredictable this entire class has become over the past few months.

1. Cleveland Browns

53. The Cleveland Browns aren’t fooling anybody. The latest rumors that there might be some sort of inter-team squabble over what to do at #1 overall is ridiculous. A classic pre-draft rumor designed to create confusion. The fact is the Browns may like Mitch Trubisky but there is no way on the planet they could ever validate taking him at that spot because he’s not even close to the best player in the draft. Even if he is a quarterback.
Myles Garrett was, is and will remain the man at the top. The guy had 31 sacks in his college career in 34 games. His proven productivity is already great but his physical upside is even greater. He’s big, long, fast, powerful and athletic. Best of all he’s intelligent based just on his common interests. Sure the guy has a somewhat murky history of health but so did Jadeveon Clowney and that eventually worked out.
. DE. Texas A&M. Myles Garrett . 1. player
