Kansas City Chiefs: Five Quarterback Options for the Future
By Josh Marion
Johnny Manziel
Now this may seem like a far-fetched idea, but just hang on for a minute. Lets not forget that Manziel was a highly touted prospect coming out of Texas A&M, enough to warrant a 1st round selection.
While in Cleveland Manziel had his struggles (mainly off the field), but he did show some real promise on the field during his sophomore campaign with a dreadful Browns team. Johnny Football has a similar skill set to Alex Smith, and would come at an extremely cheap price due to his lack of interest around the league.
Who better to coach and clean up the game of Manziel than Andy Reid.
Reid and his system have the ability to let Manziel’s athleticism and instincts show off, as well as limiting some of the errant throws he tends to make. I’m not saying a Manziel signing automatically means he would become the QB of the future, but that could be a possibility if he shows improvement on and off the field.
