Tom Coughlin is old school. He knows the quickest way for the Jacksonville Jaguars to get on track is by forging a rock solid defense. The unit he currently has is close, but it’s still missing something. Namely a tone-setter up front. Somebody who plays with a relentless fire that ignites the rest of his teammates. A Michael Strahan like he had in New York. Often the best way to build that defense is up front, and thus the decision becomes easy.

Solomon Thomas has shot up recent draft boards for obvious reasons. Every time the Stanford lineman was on tape, he’d do a handful of plays that would make you say wow. He doesn’t take any plays off, showcasing a serious skill for blowing up offensive plays in the backfield. Quarterbacks feel his presence almost constantly. He’s big enough to play inside but athletic enough to come off the edge. The versatility is exciting.
. DE. Stanford. Solomon Thomas . 4. player. 52
