32. New Orleans Saints (via NE)

32. player. 15. There was a strong feeling around the league that the Saints were eyeing up potential successors for Drew Brees. Mahomes seemed like a favorite but he was swiped earlier by Arizona. So New Orleans bides their time and thanks to an earlier trade with New England are able to take advantage by having the last pick of the 1st round. This ensures their ability to get one of the top quarterbacks on a contract that will feature a 5th year option.
DeShone Kizer is catching a lot of flak lately for going 4-8 his final year at Notre Dame. His own head coach feels he made a mistake declaring for the draft this soon. Kizer is only 21-years old. That makes him the ideal developmental project. He’s a tremendous physical talent and a student of the game. He’s just raw in a lot of places. He needs time to mature. Learning behind Brees and under Sean Payton is a perfect scenario for him.
.
