21. Detroit Lions

Marlon Humphrey . 21. player. 50. The fading of the Detroit Lions down the stretch last season wasn’t surprising or an accident. The team had overachieved for most of the year, especially on defense. One look at the roster and it’s easy to see the talent is lacking in several areas. Cornerback being a big one. Can anybody recall a notable name in that group besides Darius Slay? Nope. Given the strength of the passing games in the NFC, that is a position they have to improve.
Marlon Humphrey has a reputation for being one of the most physical corners in the 2017 class. He’s big, long and gets up in the face of receivers as a press cover man. He may not be a purely fluid athlete but he understands how to stick with his assignments down the field and do so without getting constantly flagged. At the very least he’d make a great compliment to Slay but has plenty of upside to be the #1 guy in any secondary.
. CB. Alabama
