Dustin Colquitt has been a high-level punter for the Chiefs for the last 12 seasons. That being said, he will be making over $4 million dollars in the 2017 season, which is the highest of any punter in the league. His contract is also up after the 2017 season. The Chiefs put a tremendous value on Special Teams, so they may not move on from Colquitt just because of the potential savings.

Rehkow is regarded as the best punting prospect in the draft, and he also did some placekicking at Idaho. The team could elect to go with the cheaper option if he shows promise in the preseason. The Chiefs are in a position where they can afford to make these kinds of draft picks, as the roster is very competitive. Last year, their high third-round pick didn’t even make the roster. If it doesn’t work out with Rehkow, it wouldn’t be a big deal to cut the rookie.

The Chiefs elected to sign former Eagles nose tackle Bennie Logan to a one-year deal instead of bringing back Dontari Poe, who signed a similar deal with the Falcons this offseason. Logan is a better fit for the defensive line rotation, as he is a much better run stopper than Poe was. The team also has the players to sub him out on third down to generate more of a pass rush.

Since he only signed a one-year deal, Finding a replacement for 2018 and beyond would be a good idea. Tupou has the size of a nose tackle but is very raw. It might be tough for the former Buffalo to crack the roster as a rookie, but he seems like a good fit for the practice squad.

Other 6th round fits: Amba Etta-Tawo WR Syracuse, Michael Roberts TE Toledo, Storm Norton OT Toledo, Alex Torgersen QB Pennsylvania, Chad Kelly QB Ole Miss
