Peterman has been on the rise since the season ended, standing out at the Senior Bowl and Combine for his throwing accuracy and comfort taking snaps under center. The former Panther could be the perfect developmental quarterback to learn behind Alex Smith. He has better deep ball accuracy than Alex Smith, completing 46.2% of his deep throws in his Senior season.

He doesn’t have quite the athletic ability as Smith but does well with moving in the pocket and evading rushers. I believe that Peterman has the floor of a solid backup quarterback, and should be able to develop into a solid starter after a year or two of developing and learning the system.

Other 2nd round fits: Cordrea Tankersley CB Clemson, Kevin King CB Washington, Derek Rivers OLB Youngstown State, Joe Mixon HB Oklahoma
