Kansas City Chiefs 2017 NFL Mock Draft: Finding Contributors in Every Round
After losing some key free agents last season, the Chiefs have 10 total picks in the 2017 draft, including a third round compensatory pick.
The Chiefs wrapped up their first AFC West title since 2010 last year with a disappointing home loss to the Steelers in the divisional round. There is no reason to believe the Chiefs won’t be back in the playoffs in 2017 and beyond, as they have one of the best and youngest rosters in the NFL.
Signing Eric Berry to a long-term deal was the top priority of the offseason, as the Chiefs were able to bring back the unquestioned leader of the team on a 6-year deal. They also signed guard Laurent Duvarnay-Tardif to a 5-year extension and opted to sign Eagles nose tackle Bennie Logan to a one-year deal to replace Dontari Poe.
Usually, the team would be for trading down and adding more picks, but they’re probably more likely to trade up this year, with the number of picks they have compared to roster spots available. For the sake of this mock draft, I haven’t included any trades.
