4th Round

It was obvious from all the news to come out of free agency that the Bears are dead set on upgrading the cornerback position. The 2017 class is ridiculously deep. So much so that they could land a starter early in the 4th round. Cordrea Tankersley would be an absolute steal. Some are down on him for his high penalty volume and stiff transitions in coverage. Yet he’s an athletic big body who did a lot of what this defense needs: gets his hands on the football for turnovers.. CB. Clemson. Cordrea Tankersley . 111. player. 57

4th Round (via CAR)

TE. Arkansas. Jeremy Sprinkle . 115. player. 57. Based on their recent addition of Dion Sims, it’s clear the Bears are team that likes combo tight ends. Or ones that can both block and catch the football. This draft is actually quite full of those types, which is rare. Jeremy Sprinkle is one of them. He’s a well-versed blocker coming out of Arkansas but people can overlook how athletic he is for a guy at 6’5″, 252 lbs. He may not be a blazing speedster, but he understands how to get open.

4th Round (via BUF)

57. The Bears can’t afford to ignore the offensive tackle position in this draft. They just don’t have the depth or even front line talent to afford it. Somebody must be brought in who can be a solid reserve option and has starter upside. Roderick Johnson fits that mold perfectly. He still has a lot of growing to do from a technique standpoint, but the Florida State left tackle is a behemoth who has shown he can move well for his size. He’s also only 21-years old.. OT. Florida State. Roderick Johnson . 117. player
