4. Jacksonville Jaguars
RB. LSU. Leonard Fournette . 4. player. 52. Tom Coughlin is an old school football mind. He understands what it takes to win in the NFL. Most of free agency was spent building up the defense and helping the offensive line. Could a quarterback be next? Maybe. There wasn’t much of a vote of confidence in Blake Bortles. At the same time it’s unlikely they’ll spend a 1st rounder on a replacement. Instead Coughlin may use a classic solution to such problems. Adding a feature running back to ease the pressure.
Leonard Fournette proved at LSU and at the scouting combine that he’s a freak of nature. A rare mix of size, speed and power at the running back position. The type who can be fed 20-30 times a game and he’ll wear a defense out. This is something Bortles and the Jaguars offense hasn’t had over the past four years. Coughlin won Super Bowls with a balanced offense. Being able to lean on Fournette may be just the salvation Bortles needs.
