29. Green Bay Packers

UCLA. Takkarist McKinley . 29. player. 49. After losing Julius Peppers to free agency, it was obvious the Green Bay Packers had to get Nick Perry back. Their pass rush was already a bit iffy even when those two and Clay Matthews comprised their primary trio. It’s unclear if Kyler Fackrell will take the next step to replace Peppers but optimism isn’t exactly high. It might prove fairly wise for the team to consider adding more help, especially with the pressure to win another Super Bowl increasing.
Ted Thompson historically loves players for UCLA. They’re good athletes and versatile. Takkarist McKinley is from there and also fits a vital need for the team. He proved last season how good he’s becoming as an edge rusher, able to beat blockers with speed or power. The fact he did all that damage with a bad shoulder? Even more impressive. He’ll finally get that fixed this offseason. Though it will cost him time, just imagine how much better he might be at 100%.
. OLB
