27. Kansas City Chiefs

player. 124. There is rampant speculation that the Kansas City Chiefs will take a quarterback in the 1st round. It’s possible, but not likely. Have people forgotten the Chiefs haven’t selected a QB that high since 1983. Yep. That long. It’s just not something this organization does. Besides, Alex Smith has proven he can win if a good enough roster is put in place. Particularly on the defensive side. So it is in this area they choose to focus early.
Cordrea Tankersley might be a surprise this high, but he shouldn’t be. The Clemson corner was a playmaker all of last year, delivering dependable coverage and timely interceptions. He’s got the size for the position 3-4 teams covet and proved at the scouting combine that speed won’t be an issue as well. Kansas City is still looking for somebody to put opposite Marcus Peters. Tankersley won’t have a problem filling that role.
. CB. Clemson. Cordrea Tankersley . 27
