24. San Francisco 49ers (via OAK)

24. player. 42. The Kirk Cousins trade is a fun discussion topic but no longer seems settled in reality for the 49ers. They can’t honestly think Brian Hoyer is their future can they? Of course not. It’s clear they must come away with a young quarterback in this draft, so they utilize their flexibility to jump back into the 1st round. Getting ahead of Houston seems like the popular idea, and so they swing a deal with the Raiders for the #24 pick.
John Lynch stated a couple weeks ago that he was very impressed by Deshone Kizer of Notre Dame. There is no doubting the kid’s physical skill set: size, mobility, big arm, tough and accuracy when the mechanics are right. Mike Mayock still believes he’s the best in this draft, even though there are lingering questions about his mental stability in regards to forgetting about mistakes. Thankfully the 49ers are a team that can afford to take their time coaching him up.
. QB. Notre Dame. Deshone Kizer
