21. Detroit Lions

player. 50. Look back on where things went wrong for the Detroit Lions down the stretch of last year. Like most Cinderella teams they just started to run out of late-game magic. Many of their weaknesses were exposed, including an underwhelming presence at cornerback outside of Darius Slay. Top QBs like Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson had their way with them. Until this area is shored up, the defense isn’t going to reach levels close to where they were in 2014.
Thankfully the 2017 class is ready to help. Marlon Humphrey might be one of the most physical corners in it. Playing the run isn’t a problem and he showcased a ton of ability in press coverage at Alabama. He has size and the necessary quickness and speed to maintain it down the field. He may not be the most fluid but he makes up for it with toughness, technique and effort. Put him opposite Slay and get better.
. CB. Alabama. Marlon Humphrey . 21
