15. Indianapolis Colts

Rebuilding the defense has clearly been on the agenda for new Indianapolis Colts GM Chris Ballard. If that team wants to take on the AFC elite, they’ll need one. Right now they don’t have it. A big requirement is a pass rush. Age finally caught up with several of their key players and years of poor drafting didn’t help matters. Often the first step to rebuilding a defensive unit is finding a quality young rusher to build around.
Derek Barnett might be a surprise pick here considering the Colts run a 3-4 system. Then again Chuck Pagano is a flexible coach and could easily make this work. Besides, Barnett is one of the most proven pass rushers in the class. He’s such a natural at getting after the quarterback, understand how to use leverage, hands and having a plan before each snap. Combine that with solid size, strength and sneaky athleticism? He’ll be a big help.
. DE. Tennessee. Derek Barnett . 15. player. 46
