12. Chicago Bears (via CLE)

57. Getting a player that most experts think the team would take at #3 overall after trading back twice is considered the draft equivalent of winning. The Chicago Bears know they have to get value out of this draft after a rather suspect free agency period. That means taking the best player available with every pick. The draft must be where they locate their future stars. One position they haven’t located such talent for over a decade is at safety.
It might be a surprise that Jamal Adams is still available, but it shouldn’t be. Despite his reputation for being a really good football player (and he is), he’s not elite in any category as an athlete. He’s somewhat undersized and not overly fast. His game is built on toughness, violence, intelligence, and instinct. All of which he has in abundance. Not to mention leadership. Those are all traits that can make for a tone-setter the Bears need on the back end.
. S. LSU. Jamal Adams . 12. player
