Kamar Aiken reportedly signs with Indianapolis Colts
The Indianapolis Colts have reportedly stolen Kamar Aiken away from the Baltimore Ravens, signing the wide receiver to a free agent contract…
The Indianapolis Colts have quietly been one of the most active teams this offseason on the free agent market, and that continued on Tuesday as they reportedly agreed to terms on a contract with wide receiver Kamar Aiken…
Aiken had visited the Colts over the weekend, and was expected to visit the Seattle Seahawks next. New Colts GM Chris Ballard has been gutting the roster and re-creating everything around Andrew Luck, and perhaps next on his list is a purge at wide receiver.
The Colts have some tradeable assets at receiver, notably Donte Moncrief and Phillip Dorsett. The acquisition of Aiken paves the way if they want to get maximum value for one of those guys (Moncrief is on the last year of his rookie deal) or if they just want to have Aiken added to the mix.

Coming out of Central Florida, Aiken’s career began with the Buffalo Bills in 2011. He signed to the Chicago Bears’ practice squad in 2012 before being waived and winding up in New England. After his time in New England, Aiken signed on with the Baltimore Ravens in 2013 to their practice squad.
The 6-2, 215 pound receiver worked his way to the active roster, making his regular season debut with the Ravens in 2014. He caught three touchdown passes that season.
Aiken burst onto the scene in 2015 when he played in all 16 games, catching 75 passes for 944 yards and five scores. He may have even been your fantasy waiver wire MVP that season…
After his big 2015 campaign, he took a backseat again in 2016, catching just 29 passes. He now moves along to the Colts, where Andrew Luck will certainly find ways to get him the football. I think this is a great move for depth by the Colts, getting a guy that could potentially start for you and also someone that can help keep the chains moving as a backup.
Whatever his role, I think the Colts stole one here…
