25. Houston Texans

10. The Tony Romo discussion is fun for Houston Texans fans but people don’t see how precarious a position the team is in at this stage. Right now their best quarterback option is Tom Savage. Some may believe he can be better than people thing, but reality say this team is no better at the position than they were before the Osweiler trade. If Romo is out of the question, then their need to draft one in the 1st round round becomes a virtual lock.
Seems fitting they get a local kid out of Texas Tech to fill that void. Patrick Mahomes might be the rawest of the top four prospects in this class, but he’s also probably the most gifted. He features a live arm that can strike deep at any time, showcasing both velocity and accuracy. He’s also infinitely more creative as a playmaker, able to keep plays alive with his feet and find guys open. Bill O’Brien will have the task of refining his fundamentals without quashing his improvisation.
. QB. Texas Tech. Patrick Mahomes . 25. player
